Release Notes: Eco

  • ECO-0003 April 15, 2025: Enhancements and new onboarding for Eco Google Cloud:
    • The new onboarding process lets you grant Eco read-only permission to your Google Cloud environment for data analysis and ingestion.
    • You can view Google Cloud savings data, such as total committed use discount savings, current monthly commitment, and month-to-date (MTD) savings.
    • You can also see a detailed visualization of your committed use discount savings in the savings over time graph. It includes filters for resource-based and spend-based committed use discounts. This gives you a comprehensive view of your savings.
November 2024

  • ECO-0002 November 27, 2024: You can now view the following Effective Savings Rate (ESR is a FinOps metric that measures the actual ROI of cloud discount instruments) data in the Eco console:

    • EC2 ESR
    • Non-EC2 ESR
    • EC2 ESR with Spot

    You can also view the:

    • ESR graph, which displays the ESR data in more detail.
    • Effective Cost and Waste graph, which displays the effective hourly cost (actual incurred cost with upfront costs distributed) and waste over the last 120 days. Costs are displayed across the three main purchase options and any unused commitments.
    • Utilization Over Time graph, which displays the combined utilization of reserved instances and savings plans.
